I upgraded from WP 2.9.2 to WP 3.0.1 and realized, that wpNamedUsers is not working anymore. Tried with clean install - the same. (if post have set user, then everybody (without logging in) don't see it, BUT every other registered users can see this post, too) For me - blogging without user management is not possible anymore. Have you plans to make a WP 3.0.1 compatitable wpNamedUsers plugin?
Mail me pls.
Thank you very mach.Andris (Latvia)

Hi Andrias,

I wpNamedUsers is really great plugin, thank you for your work.
I upgraded from WP 2.9.2 to WP 3.0.1 and realized, that wpNamedUsers is not working anymore. I've just read something about this issue in WP 3. I will do some testing to see if I can reproduce the error.

The plugin uses only those three tables. named_users
named_users_groups
named_users_groups_relations
and now it doesn't say that thing about the 3227 unexpected characters. However the wpNamedUsers Permissions page is still blank and the pages i protect with the plugin gets a 404 not found error.
I am sure it is because i copied the active plugin via ftp so I created a faluty SQL database ... but does your plugin use other tables than these three:
named_users
named_users_groups
named_users_groups_relations

I went into my phpMyAdmin and deleted the tables for
named_users
named_users_groups
named_users_groups_relations
and now it doesn’t say that thing about the 3227 unexpected characters. I have used and set up your plugin on my test site and it works perfectly, but when i wanted to move it to the live site i copied the plugin via ftp - and forgot to disable it first. Now it doesnt work on the livesite. The "settings" page is empty, and when I activate the plugin i get "The plugin generated 3227 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.".I guess this is because I copied the plugin while it was activated, but where would I look for those 3227 characters that are left from my test server activation? I need this to work on my livesite.Thank you!

Hello!
